An announcement has been shared regarding the National Internship Program, which offers students the opportunity to complete internships in public institutions and the private sector. The Program is carried out under the auspices of the Presidency, with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, and coordinated by the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR). It aims to strengthen young people’s access to career opportunities at an early stage. Within the scope of the Program, it is aimed to increase the employability of young people, support equal opportunity in access to career opportunities, and expand these opportunities to all university departments.
Students who apply to the National Internship Program are evaluated through a transparent and innovative method based on academic/professional, artistic/social, and sports competency scores, taking into account their academic performance, activities aimed at developing their skills, and overall achievements. Employers submit internship offers objectively based solely on the scores obtained in these competency areas, without viewing students’ identity or university information.
The National Internship Program, which has attracted attention abroad in addition to its success in Turkey and has been recognized by the OECD as an exemplary practice, offers young people the opportunity to experience professional life while still students and to gain early career awareness.
